Hello. New chicken mama here. We bought 6 buff brahma chicks about 5 weeks ago. Today when changing their bedding we noticed one of them was more stressed than the others and limping a bit. Her left knee is almost twice the size of her right and shes just carrying herself differently. She leans to the side like she wants to hold out the injured leg to the side. They are in a kiddie pool at the moment and it is possible she injured herself running around with the others. They are getting bigger and with food/water/perches that kiddie pool is getting small quick. I haven't noticed any fighting between them (other than a peck if someones face is too close while eating) to think she was beat up. My question is what could I do to help? Would it be best to remove her so she doesn't accidentally get run over or would that stress her out more? Her leg doesn't seem broken but would a splint of some sort maybe help? Or a wrap of some sort to take down any swelling? I'm just not quite sure what the best route is...if there is one.

mine did that to one of its legs once and i jst wrapped some thing round its leg and left it for about a week and it was starting to walk a bit better then i took it off and it got better from there.....but dunno if your case is the same..??

Could you take another picture of how she normally stands? She could have a slipped tendon or a bad sprain, or even a leg bone deformity. Has she always seemed to walk normally? With the swelling, I would wait a bit on splinting, because that could increase it. It may be necessary to splint or wrap it for her to get around though. Is she able to stand and walk and get to food?
