I have 5 Bantam cochins that I think I have an idea on the sex but asking for expert support! šŸ˜‰

They were purchased from TSC and told they were likely from Hoovers Hatchery (but our TSC uses 2 hatcheries & couldn't remember the name. Maybe in Iowa?!)

The chicks had a lot of feathers on their wings & "shoulder pad" feathers were coming in. I am guessing they were 2-3 weeks old when they came home on May 14, 22.

Sadly, I am in town so no Roosters for me & all but one Cockrell will go to freezer camp. If one is a not too mean, he can go live with some silkies & frizzles at the in-laws farm.

I'll be posting again in a few weeks I have 4 more Bantam cochin & 1 (oops) full size Cochin that are 4 weeks old that I'll need help with. Hopefully there is more pullets in that lot!

You all are confirming my guesses. šŸ˜Ŗ I was really hoping #4 was a pullet comparing it to #2 ā€ who for weeks was obviously a cockerel. I really hope the younger four Bantam cochins have more pullets. Or my Frizzle will go live with in in-laws Bantam coup.

Aged 2 more weeks update picture on #4.

I'm guessing he could be a week or so younger than others. Or just a slow grower.

One of the black cockerels started crowing today. I thought something was murdering chicks. Nope! Just a young man finding his voice.
