Hi everyone. I've finished gathering chicks to complete my flock... for now. We proudly own 4 Cochin bantams- 2 smooth 2 frizzle and 3 australorps-- all feathered out and enjoying their coop, day and night. But they won't roost? I have to set them on the roost after the suns been down a while, but they stay there. I'm not sure how old they are but I'm guessing about 7 weeks? My new little fuzzy babies are in the brooder now. 3 Gold Lace Wyandottes, 2 barred rocks, and 5 easter eggers- I think they're easter eggers but they were bought as "Americanas" at our local feed store. They all have the chipmunk pattern but no muffs. Also, when are you able to tell the pullets from the roos? And when can the babies move to the coop? Between waiting on figuring out how many hens we'll have, waiting to know what color the EEs eggs will be and what color the EEs themselves will be.. the suspense is getting to me lol!!! Pictures and personal info from owning any one of these breeds is extremely appreciated! Did I do good choosing my breeds? I'm wanting med-large brown & colored eggs with high productivity.
