Hi!
I have 18 chicks scheduled for pick on June 12. I plan to keep them inside till they are around 5 days old. Then the plan is for them to go into the coop that has a heat lamp and an area secured away from our 3 year old rooster, a Guinea fowl, and a turkey.
But can they go in the same area as 5 week old chicks (4 chick and they are similar breed)

You may be able to but you're pushing the envelope a little there. Two and three weeks apart I've heard of and done myself. These are a month apart so I think what I'd do is keep those younger ones apart for one more week so they are 2 weeks old. Then they are much stronger, can run faster, etc. Then I'd give it a try and see. You'll know within a few minutes if it's going to work or not.

You may have it work better as it's going to be 18 vs. 4 if I understand correctly.

Thank you! Yah it will be 18 against 4, I do have space to put the new chicks inside for a couple weeks.
