5 day olds...he crowed!!

...I was taking a nap...it sounded like a cell phone trill. I heard it 3 times, witnessed it the last time. The darn chick was crowing!!

A blue splash maran.

I can only have hens. Out of 43 eggs, only 8 hatched. Lost one today. One of the 2 Welsummers I know is also a boy from his markings. And my only other Maran that hatched, a Birchen, I have a feeling is a boy too.

Aww, sorry! Isn't a blue splash maran a pretty popular-type bird though? Hopefully, you should be able to rehome him.

I'm hoping so, although NO ONE in town can have roosters, and in most of nearby Sac, they aren't allowed any chickens!

I'm sorry to hear that where you can only girls. What exactly does a 5 day old crow sound like??? That must be an interesting noise!!!
