Hi, I have a year old WH that has been laying consistently since March, so around 140 eggs this year. She's looking pretty scrappy, her feathers are no longer really smooth and soft like my 5 mo olds.
She preens fine. She lost her best friend four weeks ago and has had the stress of integration with some younger ducks since then, one of them a drake that was picking on her so he ended up in drake jail.
Shes been laying pretty consistently during that time.
But for 5 days now she's not laid. I felt her abdomen today and it doesn't feel like there's anything in there, and it's not 'hanging low' like it was earlier this summer.
Is she just headed for a molt?
She gets layer/duck feed and free choice oyster shell. Poops seem normal, I gave her peas as a treat this morning so she had greenish poo that I just saw.
