We have 5 pullets. Yesterday was the first day we got 5 eggs...This an when I did my early morning routine, there was a soft shell egg and a shell less egg on the poop board. When I went back mid day, there were 3 good eggs in the nesting box. I figured that was all for the day. But, I went back later, there was another good egg.

So, today, we got 4 good eggs and the two others from 5 pullets. Do soft shell or shell-less eggs go thru the egg process quicker than normal egg? Technically the two eggs on the poop board could have been laid anytime after roosting (the night before) until 6 am (when I found them).

I've had this happen 2 or 3 times, and I assumed she would grow out of it...and I'm pretty sure it is my large PBR who lays double yolkers sometimes, as she lays mostly large eggs about every other day. My 7 Pullets all are in the first month of laying - and my smallest an Exchequer Leghorn has also laid a SMALL double-yolk egg. Both are quite vocal birds and dominant around food. Is there something I can do to help their reproductive systems normal out? They have a spacious HenHouse and Run, regular dustbaths and sun, and get boiled crushed eggshells separate from layer feed, and are quite ravenous for grapes and greens. They are currently eating a lot of pumpkin. I like double yolks, but since 2 do it, and i read there is an oviduct issue possible wth double=yolkers, - wonder if I can do something to help?
