5 roos too much?

Two months :)

Everyone on this road is a farmer, so we're good on that :)

At 2 months, you have not seen their male behaviors fully emerge. I think you could see some hazing, likely serious depending upon the chemistry, in a few months. I have often had roosters who seem very content together, and think this is great, until they sexually mature. Then trouble breaks out and the top rooster beats up on the others, the low man gets picked on by everyone. I have had one pinned by several for hours.

This could work if they are of the right temperament, and being Silkies are generally less aggressive (or can be...but not guaranteed)....or you can see the war of the worlds in about 4 to 6 months.

Keep an eye on it.

And BTW...at 2 months are you sure you have 5 roosters? Silkies are notorious for being hard to sex especially before they lay or crow.

Same here, my neighbor has 14 roosters now and 1 hen (It used to be 17 roosters to three hens and two died) The hen is not doing very well anymore and I can’t do anything.

You should have 1 rooster for every 10 hens. Or you can keep them with no hens and they should be fine. Just make sure they don’t fight.

That’s really sad! I had 8 roosters, they were silkies and raised them so was getting to the point of getting rid of the males soon. I would watch them just gang up on the hens. One would mount and 5 would be pecking her face/body. Needless to say I have 1 now with 15 hens.

I know, it is really hard for her because they are all game roosters.
