New Chicks with Existing Flock

We have 12 new 8 week old chicks being introduced to our 6 month old existing flock of (1 rooster, 5 hens). We moved them into the coop brooder for one week then let them into the flock, they are treated nicely but they tend to stay far from the other chickens, will this eventually end and they all be together? Any tips for helping this along?

In my experience they will eventually be a more cohesive flock. Especially if they are confined to a run. My current flock still breaks off into subflocks during free range time but always goes into the coop together.
