My chicken is limping on this foot. This started 2 weeks ago but seemed to get better. She was roosting at night. On the other foot, she puts weight on the back toe (purple arrow), but not the 5th toe, just above it. On the hurt foot, she’s only putting weight on the first 3 toes.
I kept an eye on her and she seemed to get better, but I think she was just better at hiding the pain. Because now she’s limping again. She can still roost, but my girls are starting to pick on her so I’m going to make her a quarantine corner in the run.
I got a Google image of foot chicken skeletons and it seems like the purple circle area is where the pain is coming from. Would a normal splint like the one pictured work? I feel like she’s still going to be standing and putting weight on it.
