5 week barred rock boy or girl?

I cant see any rust coloring in the feathers. I know the breeder had his birds in separate breeding pens and he had several different breeds. Barred rock, pencil rock, buff orpington, white leghorn and easter Eggers where the breeds he had, I was given a mixture of eggs with the breeds written on each egg as well

The single barring gene on the female makes the female appear to be darker, with thin white bars while her Male counterparts, who has two Gene's for barring, will appear to be almost evenly white and black.

I have compared the pics, but didn't understand until now the single- vs. double barring terminology. Thank you @Littleshadow !

I also looked up BR vs. marans. But, being so new to chicken parenting, I have no idea. Your bird looks just like my BR pullet did at that age - leg color and all.
