Hi all!

I’ve been trying to sort through threads to find similar looking chicks, but it’s surprisingly hard at these different ages!

Trying to ID this chick - 5 weeks old. I’m guessing a Silver Laced Polish or maybe a Tolbunt Polish due to the gold in its feathers?

There are 3 of these colored chicks, so this is one of the others, but shows the feathers better.

2nd question - I have 2 chicks who are tiny compared to the others. They are all 5 weeks old and show these signs (poo, eating, drinking, moving, being picked on) all seem normal. Feathers are not great looking, and they seem to be running a week in feather growth. This is a French Black Copper Maran vs an Australorp. Do I need to be concerned about the size differences?

Here are up close shots of the little Australorp (there are 3 and only 1 is tiny, but all 3 are significantly smaller than the Marans).

Thanks everyone! I look forward to joining this community :)

That’s exactly what it is!! You don’t know what a relief that is for whatever reason 😂 but none of the other breeds ever felt right.

Yeah the smaller chicks is just weird. I check them daily, because I keep expecting to lose them, but the really do seem healthy. It’ll be interesting to seem them at 16 weeks...

It's possible your first chick is a Cream Brabanter. :) The crest doesn't seem large enough to be a Polish. As for your small chicks, I'm stumped.....some simply grow at different rates, so perhaps this is the case?

Many warm welcome to the forum!!! :celebrate

The little black and white one...is not an Australorp.
I do not know what it is.

Where did you buy these?

They came from all over - 3 big feed stores and 1 local organic farming store. I got better photos of these 3, so would love to hear what you think they may be! Everyone is 5 weeks old.

Yeah we’re prepared for roosters 😉 1-2 may get to stay and the rest will be dinner.

What color are the bottoms of their feet? :) They could very well be bantams, although none are jumping out at me at the moment.

Hmmm I’ll find out today! I don’t think I’ve ever really looked. Do bantams have a different color?
