5 week old Barnevelder

He beat me to saying that vent sexing isn't safe (or accurate) unless done soon after hatch, and by trained professionals.
Oh that explains why my vent sexing went wrong I once tried to vent sexed a 4 week old duck and chicken I though the duck was a girl but was a drake I even thought the hen was a rooster but it was a hen.

Yep. It's best to just wait and see, or send off for DNA if you can't wait.

I have two barnevelders that I got from chicks. They were around that development stage at that age maybe a bit more maybe a bit less. They were sexed as females and are 1 yr old now! I think yours is a pullet but update to be sure. :) Wish you luck! :)

Just for fun, I have a 5 day update. The wattles continue to stay pinkish but haven’t grown much. Comb is still small and mostly yellow. This chick doesn’t stand like a cockerel and is quite a “chicken”. Runs from everything and is definitely a follower. I will keep waiting.
