5 Week Old Black Copper Maran Hen or Roo

We have a 5 week old Black Copper Maran who is starting to get wattles. It also has huge legs, but so did our other BCM girl so I’m trying not to read too much into it. Does this look like a hen or roo to you?

Free standing profile pictures are best for gender ID. Going by what I can see, I will guess that is a pullet.

I think pullet as well. But watch that comb and those wattles in the next few weeks for rapid development.

She looks like a pullet. At 5 weeks a cockerel would already show a much bigger and redder comb.

My BCM chicks will be 5 weeks old on Thursday and the cockerels have very pronounced and red combs. The pullets combs are tiny and pale.

My "BCM" pullet looks just like that, but with more copper in the neck and a small crest. I've been told my BCM is an "olive egger" but it does look alot like the OP.
