Perhaps I am being an alarmist, however it appears one of my chicks is losing some feathers. at first it was a few tiny feathers but this morning I found 2 large feathers, I believe the feathers are from one chick (Sassy). we have 6 chicks total, the pecking order has started and Sassy, the smallest, will likely be on the bottom of the pecking order.

Is it normal for a 5 week old chick to lose feathers?

They are re-feathering all the time at that age, until they get their adult plumage. It's just part of the growth process. I wouldn't worry unless you see other signs of disease or aggression. You can pick up your chick and see if she's bleeding or is getting torn up. Some people use a red heat lamp, at that age, to stop chick's from pecking each other. They can't see as well, in red light. I used it and my chicks pecked each other very little.
