I have a Russian Orloff pullet age 5 weeks that was pecked by her mama hen when she stopped brooding. The injury looks really bad, but she seems to be in good spirits. The best I could do was separate her and clean the wound with pierced ear solution (benzalkonium chloride). I wish I could stitch it closed but it's been too many days. She is eating and drinking well.

This is the back of her neck.
What I'd like to know is if her feathers will grow back right there.

This is her back which is normally covered by her wings.
The skin is dry and scabby and her pin feathers are patchy.
Is this a normal part of molting or does she have a disease?
My OCD daughter did pick out a few that looked funny, but I told her to stop.

Is this life threatening or will she eventually heal? She's getting spoiled hanging out in the house.

If she has survived for days since the injury occurred then she will likely be fine. Most of the time even bad skin tears heal up on their own without stitches. She just needs to recover with no one (chicken or human) picking on her. Her skin does look a bit dry and scabby but the feathers will eventually grow back as long as she eats well and has time to heal unmolested.

If she is separated from her hatch mates then consider bringing a couple of them in to keep her company and maintain some bonds (just watch to make sure they don't pick on her, choose quiet/docile chicks as companions). This chick has had enough stress, if she is away from all the other chicks for too long she becomes a stranger and will be picked on again as well as "shunned" when she returns to the flock which she really doesn't need. Having friends to roost with and hang out with is vital for adolescents.

All the above advice sound good. I don't know what's up with her back. Since pin feathers are there, that part looks good. Some vetericyn would probably be good, and some triple antibiotic on any spots that you suspect need it.
I think the neck spot will heal. I dont know if it will grow feathers but it's not too big. Other feathers should cover the area. I do think that putting some kind of thick cream on it would help keep it moist so it heals faster. Corona multipurpose ointment is good. Others are, too.
