Hi All! Thank you SO much for all your replies! They are in our garage in a "coop" that we built until they can go to their coop outside. It's built of wood on the sides and an open top. We change the bottom of the brooder once a week with new cardboard boxes and new shavings. We change their water twice per day (add apple cider vinegar), pick out any poop from their feed, etc. We still have the heat lamp on them but have raised it quite a bit so it's about 70-75 degrees in their brooder which is what we were told it should be by week 5? We got them just a day or so old from a local farm supply store that so many had recommended and although they've been quite helpful to other questions, they are not open today.
As first time chicken owners, we are feeling a bit overwhelmed with her symptoms and the number of things it could possibly be so after quite a few calls, we found a vet that is open today and often sees chickens so my husband is on his way there with her now.
Thank you so much for all of your advice and quick responses. We appreciate all this so much! Wow, this community is awesome!
