How long has the chick been like this?
Can you post a photo of her standing up so we can see the direction the leg is pointing?
Do you notice any swelling of the hocks or joints?

Also - is that Cedar shavings in the tote? If it is, remove those-they are too aromatic for chickens. Use pine shavings instead.
Here are some pics

She's sweet:)

It's possible that it may have been splayed leg when she hatched, but I lean toward this being a leg bone deformity - Valgus Varus, Twisted Tibia or similar. She has crooked toes on the other foot, which further lends me to believe that her condition could be due to genetics, parent stock nutritional deficiency and/or incorrect incubation.

She may learn to adapt enough to be integrated into a flock, but often times a bird like this may not be accepted, will be at the bottom of the pecking order (there is always a top and bottom) but more importantly, they are bullied away from food/water. Just some things to consider - but you never know how things will turn out until you try.

i just put this together, no run because the chick is 6 weeks old and has leg issues. I bought this coop for 119.00. Not planning on breeding or getting any more chicks. It is in my living room as the chick need constant attention and I want to make sure he/she thrives.

I plan on putting the run portion together so it can get some fresh air and sunshine. Not a bad kit, came with good instructions took about an hour to put together.

We also DIY’d a hammock and feeding station. We are using the coop portion as food storage for now.

Still a work in progress.

Thought I’d share.
