5 week old chicks attacking each other

Assuming the other side looks similar to this, I'd consider cutting out some of the triangular area under the roof line, and replacing it with hardware cloth. Depending on how the winds/storm blow in your area, you might need a buffer over that to keep rain out. A louvered vent cover might do the trick too, if rain is a concern.
Thanks and yes other side is solid as well. My husband does heat and air so I am sure he can rig something up. We already had to board off the nest boxes inside as they don't close off as I read if they start sleeping in them now it's not good. Only open thing i see to get air in is a crack where that nest box opens on back it runs along there and I was wondering how that would work when it rained. We live and learn probably a bad choice for a coop that we got. We have been working so much lately thankful for that at this time though so, he did not have time to build a coop like we wanted to do. Hopefully by fall we can have a better set up for them.

My suggestion of closing up the vent last night was for you to feel the chicks were warm enough their first night out in the coop.
I totally worded it wrong. Sorry about the confusion.
