5 week old drake being aggressive?

so this morning i was filling up one of the duck pools, and all 3 (adult khaki hen, 5 week old rouen hen, and 5 week old khaki drake) climbed in like usual. then the khaki drake grabbed a chunk of his sisters feathers and she screamed and jumped out of the pool. then the adult hen swam by him and he did the same too her!! i don’t remember my last drakes being so mean so soon! help!!!

i thought they didn’t do that until like 5-6 months

I have had bantams try to mate while in the brooder. Ducks not so soon, but swimming water seems to act like a duck aphrodisiac.

I think my drake started mating as soon as it could see another duck. Just kidding, sort of, but he was young when he started and I have fought over that roughness from day 1. He just seems to keep getting worse each day/year.

even at 5 weeks though?? i was really hoping i would’ve have to rehome him until spring
