5 week old ducklings

They are being kept out in my garage, in 2 seperate totes now that they are too big to be inside. They were under a red heat lamp until a week ago. Now they are under just a regular 60 watt lightbulb so that they can have light during the day, bc my garage is darker and colder than it is inside my house.

I don't see why not. I kick mine out of the house pretty early, at 5 weeks they should be feathering out pretty good.
you surely haven't still been putting them under a heat lamp or anything at that age so the acclimation shouldn't be too drastic unless you keep it extremely warm in your house.

I have only 2 3-week old ducks in a 63 inch long cage and I have to change their cage once or twice a day. They are messy creatures so I feel your pain. 🤪
I worry more about mice bothering them at night time and I have to keep them separate from the goose and chickens until they are big enough to not get hurt so not sure how long they will be in the house but it's been colder than normal for this time of year.

I have some ducks the same age as yours, and my temperatures are similar. They live outside in a coop with no heat source. They are perfectly happy, much happier than they would be in a tiny poop-filled tote.

You mentioned that you have chickens, ducks are better at handling the cold than chickens are. Ducks are just tougher in general, the only downside is the poop.

Now the only other thing I really have to worry about now that the weather is starting to get better, is the predators. Just had a coyote come through my yard today after I was outside most of the day with my little ducklings. Thankfully he didnt notice my other birds. 😓
