Hello,
My 5 week old Guinea hen has had its neck pulled in all day and is lazy. All other (5) Guineas and (11) Chicks and fine and very active. This is my first time raising chicks and Guineas. I'm lost don't know what to do. Any help is welcome.

Thank you,

Hello thank you for the question. I'm feeding them Blue Seal multiflock starter crumbles
That might be part of your problem. It is a 20% protein feed designed for chickens. Tractor Supply is also trying to pass their 20% protein chick starter off as being appropriate for chicks, game birds and turkey poults. Not only does it not have a high enough protein content but it also has the levels of lysine, methionine and niacin too low. Companies such as these only have their profit line in mind and do not care at all about the proper feed for your poultry.

I feed my guinea keets a 28% protein turkey or gamebird starter that has the appropriate levels of lysine, methionine and niacin.
