I have an Austra white that is 5 weeks old and I’m not sure if it’s a hen or roo. I’ve had a lot of people say it’s a hen but I’m still unsure

Thanks, I’m still tied between genders coz I put this same post up on Facebook and people are saying it looks like a hen. Haha5 weeks is a little early to determine the gender but for now it is looking like a boy. Do NOT make any quick decisions or consider rehoming him yet because 5 weeks is still very young to sex.
X2 it really looks like a cockerel, with a comb like that at such a young age. DON'T rehome until you are 100% sure though.I'll be surprised if it's not a cockerel.

It still could possibly be a pullet. My delaware's comb was the same size as yours at 5 weeks and she turned out to be a hen. Cockerels have shown comb of the same development also. We will definitely have a better idea in a few weeks. I am watching this thread.. It’s half leghorn and leghorns have quite large combs on both gendersIt still could possibly be a pullet. My delaware's comb was the same size as yours at 5 weeks and she turned out to be a hen.
