I have 3 Lavender Orpingtons who were 5 weeks old yesterday. I can only keep pullets, so I'd like to rehome these sooner rather than later. I know it's early, but I think 1 of them is definitely showing cockerel signs, and possibly 2. I'm only confident that 1 of them is a pullet, as she has a tiny, yellow comb, and no pinking at tall compared to the other 2. All 3 feathered early and at the exact same rate as far as I could tell. They're all calm, but that's typical of the breed. #3 has slightly longer toes, but no noticeable difference in leg size. All feathers appear the same on all 3. Anyway, please let me know your opinions of these chicks. Thanks for your help! Oh, and if I do have a cockerel, anyone in Illinois or western Indiana interested

Thanks for the reply, and that's what I've been thinking the past couple of days too! 2 of my last 3 cockerels started crowing at 5 weeks, so I don't want to wait too long. I'm already pushing it with some very loud ducks that can be heard from several houses away

, even though we're on 2 acre lots . I can have my flock, but if a neighbor complains that they're a nuisance it would cause trouble for me. Now I'm just hoping that I at least have 2 pullets.
