Hi, i have searched this site for possible diagnosis but haven't found anything yet.

I bought some 5 4 week old chicks the other day, all seem really well and healthy. I noticedthat soon afteer i got them home one of them was less active, didn't move away when we walked passed etc.

The next day i noticed she was moving even less soi seperated her from the others, gave her some water (which she drank for a good while) and some food (which shes been eating).

Its been 2 days now and she hasn't improved, infact shes even less mobile as she can't move herself at all now (only wings and head).

I hgave inspected her and her legs work OK, her claw will clasp my finger and she doesn't seem to be in any discomfort.

What should i do next?

What couyld be wrong?

Thanks in advance

Don

I take it you have a Cornish X meat chick. That happens sometimes. It helps if you have them on broiler feed and add vitamins to the water such as Broiler Booster available from Murray McMurray hatchery. As for this chick the best course of action is to process it now for a cornish game hen. Go to the Meat Bird forum. You will find a lot of information and advice there.

Hi thanks for your reply. I feed them on rearers pellets which have always worked fine before. The breed i have is a hubbard, if its not improved by tomorrow i will dispatch it.
Thanks again
