First of all, thanks for taking the time to look at my post. :)

And here it goes. Here they are at a few days old. The three dark ones hatched out of green/blue eggs. There are all some kind of a cream crested leg bar cross (don't think neither of them are pure breds). After reading up on it, I understand that the one on the far top left, should be a pullet and the one in the back middle should be a roo, due to the spots on there heads. Going on from that presumption, I believe the black on is a roo, too?
I am completely clueless on the two yellowish chicks. I am uncertain of the breed, but they both hatched from white eggs.

And here they are today (5 weeks old). According to me the two on the right are roos and the one on the left is a pullet? The confusing thing is that the "pullet" seems to be the biggest one!

2.

Pullet now on the right and roos on the left? I really wish the black one would be a pullet, but I don't think it is. Any opinions?

3.

Roos in the front, pullet far left in the background? As you can see there is quite some difference in the combs. Would it be possible for the light coloured one to be a pullet? If yes, why would he have had a white spot on him at birth?

4.

Anyway, I am in particular interested in the yellow/light brown chicks. There is a huge different in coloration and the darker one seems to have different coloured ends on his feathers, looking slightly speckled. Any clues on the breed? The other chick is just lighter all over and does not seem to have feathered as well.

Any clues or pointers would be very much appreciated. What breed and do they look like roosters or pullets to you?

Thanks.

Sorry about the picture overload, hope somebody can give me some clues and confirm or oppose my guesses.

Thank you so much.

Picture 1 and 2 there are actually in approximately the same order left to right. Brown ones left to right are in correct order and yellow ones left to right are in the right order, too. Hope this helps.

The yellowish ones might be Buff Orpington. I'm guessing mixes since the one looks to have yellow legs.

If the Legbars are mixed, you don't want to base your gender guesses too much on the head spots.

Like Mac14 said, give them all a few more weeks to be certain.

You're not going to like this, but I think only one of your yellow chicks is a pullet. The rest all look like young roos, based on comb color. If you wait a few more weeks for feathers, you can be sure.

I agree i think there is one hen and four young roos. i have a group of young chickens that are americauna barred rock crosses that look alot like this group.

Oh dear, that is bad news. I might try one last lot before Christmas or get a few pullets. Knowing my luck you are all right and they are all roos.

Why oh why?

Never mind, it was worth a go. Better luck next time. I was kind of hoping/thinking the darker one of the yellow one and the darker of the CCL ones where pullets. That would have been a lot less than I wanted, but still ... but just one, that's disappointing!

And yes, one or both might be some kind of a buff orpington as I saw one of those at the farm I got the eggs from on Sunday. :)

I think only the darker yellow one is a pullet. The lighter one is iffy but I'm almost positive all of your barred chicks are cockerels.

OH NO! How are you all so sure that all the barred ones are cockerels? Is it the combs/comb colour? And why the one have a black head spot, if it is a rooster?

As for the yellow chicks, are you all just going by comb colour/size or is there anything else that catches your eye?

A bit unrelated, but when do people usually put the chicks with the rest of their chickens?
