Hi guys - I need some help.
I posted in the "pictures and stories about my chickens" forum, and it was suggested I come here. There seems to be a cloud of doubt over the gender of my girls. So I hope you guys can set me straight.

I have four 5 week old chickens.
They are not straight run. They're all supposed to be pullets, but we all know how that goes.

2 are supposedly Gingerhams.
2 are supposedly White Leghorn/New Hampshire cross - But they have black spots and one has black legs, so I am thinking maybe Australorp?

Here are some group pics:

Do you need more photos?
Thoughts?

I don't know what a Gingerham is, but yours look exactly like a mystery chick that i have.

I had thought that mine was a boy until my friend who has a mystery chick exactly like mine showed me her chick's enormous red comb.

I am guessing that all of yours are girls.

What is a Gingerham anyway?

I asked the breeder about Gingerhams and he said they're Isa Browns crossed with White Leghorns. They just gave them a new name because they thought it described them better.

I'm glad that's cleared up!

The reddish pullets are sex-links, which is a hybrid and their color shows they are female.
They lay large brown eggs. Males would be mostly white.

As for the larger white chicks with black ticking, which look like pullets to me ...
If they were smoky colored as chicks, they might be White Jersey Giants.
If they were mostly creamy white with a touch of gray as chicks, they might be White Rocks.
Either case, they will be big birds.
