5 wk old chick has long beak (not an emergency)

I wish I could figure out how to post pics. Anyway, one of my 5 week old Australorp's top beak seems to be growing pretty long. Can they be trimmed/filed? Is this a genetic/dietary thing? The other 25 chicks have normal looking beaks.

I have a crooked beaked chicken that has a long top beak. I have taken toe nail clippers and trimmed it a couple of times (she's due for another trim). She can't wear it down herself as the others do. Make sure your birds have a concrete block or something to "file" their beaks down on their own, too.
