My husband built me a minicoop for 9 chicks. It is outside in the run with a screen run attached for them to be protected from the big girls. Well today while the big girls were roaming the yard I shut the door to the run and let the chicks out to roam the whole run.
They are 5 weeks old. So.... When I let the big girls back in only two of them even noticed the chicks running around having a great time. One (Fancy Pants) chased em around randomly but they always could run back into their private run with an entrance too small for those big hens.
It was nice to see that for the most part they were just fine together.
