My chicks are somewhere around 6-8weeks old. They are tolerating night temps in the house of 60 degrees with no heat lamp. I’m moving them into their coop the night temp low is 48 degrees. Will they be ok without a heat lamp?
Thanks
🙂

Yes. Have some kind of bedding but more importantly, close up the coop at night—if you have at least something they can roost on above the floor/ground, they’ll keep each other warm. Even a big hay/straw filled plastic bin! They’ll be ok…We moved to SD in April(still 30-40 @ night), our new barn had nothing set up, so I set their kennels upright with old towels draped over like a tablecloth—they were all sitting up on them at night together. Even were laying their eggs in one of the plastic-walled dog kennel we used for the moving traveling with them.
