I have a friend of a friend that charges "outrageous" prices on Craigslist for goats and rabbits. But, believe it or not, she sells everything! She charges $3 for a dozen eggs, but she delivers them. I guess if you know how to do it, go for it! She charges $175 for goats, and got calls for them right away.
My friend charges $85 for her goats, and can't get a buyer (the $175 and $85 goats are from the same lines). I guess it's all in how you market - and maybe if you don't charge "enough" then people think you're selling junk. Just a theory.
And $10 for a day old silkie? Geez, I have 4 broody hens right now, I'm sure I could make a fortune! Ka-ching!
