50 # of feed a week! Is that normal?

Yes
I still rebember the good old days when 50 pounds would last a month. We just bought 150 pounds today and I'll be happy if it lasts untill we go to town Monday!

I have 21 buffs, 22 leghorns, 9 turkens, and about 8 mixes and they are all one month old. I go through about 50lbs a week also. Well, here lately they've been eating about 7-9 lbs a day since I put them outside...

I have 20 one month olds and they are already up to 50# in about a week and a half. I'm sure it will go up as they get a bit bigger. Then add the 6 day olds DH got on Wed... It won't be long until 50# doesn't even last a week!

I have 15 birds and I actually was without feed (and I made my own mash for them) for about 24 hours because they finished a bag so fast I couldn't believe it and my next order didn't ship in until the next day. My birds are 10 week sold now and go through 50lb in about a week and a half. Amazing, isn't it?

Yeah, make sure they're not wasting it....not that there's much you could do about it if they are outside of putting the feeder inside of a catcher like a frisbee or a pie plate. A couple of my week olds will stand in front of the feeder and intentionally sling it out of the feeder. At that rate, I can imagine going through as much before long.
