I’ve been using these forums but finally need to post myself.

Five month old black maran hen, normal weight, started laying little eggs a couple of weeks ago every other day. Forgot to mix in oyster shells until this morning. Would always come running to me and is a totally friendly awesome chicken. Starting yesterday she wouldn’t leave coop in the morning and was there when I got back at the end of the day. Just wants to stand or sit and close her eyes. Won’t eat, even treats. Drinks water I’ve mixed with chick boost. Waddle walks, and when squatting to drink falls down. Looks like she’s pushing every now and then. Felt her vent and abdomen which are soft and went a knuckle-and-a-half into her opening and it feels clear. Crop flat. Gave her a dose of Dulcolax in the morning, three hours later a crushed half a tums with water and another half capsule of calcium citrate with water in the afternoon. Comb was droopy yet red this morning but has since gone normal this afternoon. She is since this morning inside so I can monitor. She has had a single poo all day, runny green with white cap. No bulging, redness, or discharge from vent. Respiration normal, no excess mucus. Feet normal, no mites or lice or wounds I can see. Other 9 chickens all fine. I feed them scratch grains in the mornings and they have a huge run that’s about 1700sqft and free range on about 1/2 acre during the afternoons. Water is good and I mix ACV once a month for a week. Their coop is large, pine shavings on floor with hay in the boxes. Heat just started in Western Oregon a few days ago, 85-90 suddenly.

I’m at a total loss. I can’t treat her if I can’t diagnose her. What questions am I not asking or researching enough? Someone with more experience help!

Her stance last 36 hours, and her only poop

She looks like she may be suffering from a reproductive disorder, which would be very premature at this age. Her tail down position and standing upright looks like is having problems. Could you take her to a vet for an xray? She may need antibiotics, and it can be hard ro know exactly what is going on. I would try to keep her eating and drinking. Wet chicken feed and scrambled egg are good.
