I just set 6 pekin eggs and 18 barred rock eggs from my own birds. This HAS to be a better hatch!!! And our stupid dog broke into the chick pen and ate two of my cochin babies. I am gonna kill that animal slowly!!!!

The coop has been reinforced with triple wire inside and out now. Dumb dog had to chew through the wood to get in!!!!

or do what I did and buy a Genesis 1588 while the hubby's back was turned!!!! Now experimenting with it to see if i get a better hatch rate. Good luck!

I can tell you that I have had a 100% hatch rate with my own eggs. It's the shipped ones I give up on for a bit. I think I need to find hatching eggs locally.

Uh...Casey is good with ripping wood boards out. Just saying.... If all else fails, you can stick eggs under one my broody's and you can keep the chicks. We don't need more chickens right now, but we feel bad for breaking the broody's too. Especially since we finally got broody hens!

There are certain breeds we want. I need to look locally for hatching eggs for bantam cochins and polish. I have one surviving cochin and one surviving polish. I have tried four seperate shipments of polish eggs and have one chick. I KNOW it is not the bator, since all mine hatch out fine. It is the very post office playing soccer with my packages.
