I have 9 hens almost 6 weeks old now, they've been outside in the coop for a week now, everything has been fine. I went out to give them some veggies this evening and my Welsummer can't stand up, her legs seem to just bend at the knees. The past few days I've noticed her laying down more often than the rest and just thought that's her personality but when she tries to stand she falls to the side and has to lay down to eat.

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Thank you!

Mind you I'm just guessing (not a vet, not even close)
Maybe a vitamin deficiency.
Maybe she ate something that may be moldy or poisonous.

There's a sticky at the top of the emergencies forum with a list of questions that might help one of the experts here give a better answer.

Good luck

How does her/their poo look. While the symptoms you describe don't exactly sound like cocci the age and amount of time since they've been outside would be right for it.

Here's a link to the poo page-- http://www.chat.allotment.org.uk/index.php?topic=17568.0

And
this is the link to the sticky Imp was talking about-- https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3569

If
you could copy/paste the questions into your post and answer as many as you can it will really help us to hopefully help you.

Oh that's GREAT, I will follow both links and let you know what comes of it so we can try to help her! I do know one or two have a blackish-greenish runny pooh, but not sure which of the hens it belongs to.

I'll get back to you after the links....THANK YOU!!
