6.5 week old, layer hens....switch from chick starter to Pullet Grower

My Patridge Chanteclers are 6.5 weeks old and still on chick starter.

Do I now gradually switch them to a Pullet Grower/Developer?
Then once they lay their first egg, I switch them again to a Layer Feed?

I normally don't switch them from chick starter until they're close to laying age and then switch them to laying crumbles. Maybe I've been doing it wrong all along!

This is what I'm trying to sort out......I've read about keeping them on chick starter until the first egg. This was my plan.....until I read about "pullet grower/developer".....now I'm a bit confused!

My feed store doesn't carry a grower feed, so mine will be on starter until they start laying.

If they are on a starter/grower feed then you just use that until they go to layer feed around 17 - 20 weeks old (depending on breeds).

If they are on a starter only (as it sounds) then you will want to switch them to the grower feed around 8 to 10 weeks old. Then to the layer at 17 to 20 weeks old.
