I have 5 of them. Some are a week younger than others. I sorted them by what I THINK are pullets and roos. Tell me what you think, please!

Here are my thoughts:

First picture: rooster on the left and pullet on the right
Second picture: pullet in the top right and the other two likely are roosters but it can go either way
Third picture: good chance of rooster

How old the ones in the second and third pictures? And how is their wattle growth? That'll hopefully get me a more solid answer.

The first picture the one that isn’t red I was thinking might be a Roo who just hasn’t gone red yet because the comb is so pronounced and I’m thinking will turn red?
In the second and third pictures the two bigger ones are approximately 7 weeks and the one that seems to for sure be a pullet is 6 weeks today. I’ll go get pictures of wattles now. The questionable girls are showing some but nothing like the obvious roo.

That size of comb can be normal for pullets at that age. I know I get tripped up myself too sometimes. I would be surprised if it ends up being a rooster.

The first two are pullets. The second two I'm still vary about. At this age, roosters would have a fairly red comb. The third one seems more likely to be a pullet. The fourth one is probably a pullet as well but might be a late bloomer. I'll head out and look at my chicks in a few to get a better judge of comb and wattle redness/growth as they are around 7-8 weeks and I've got them confirmed as 7 pullets 1 rooster.

That will be a new one for me! But I was definitely thrown off since there was practically no red at this stage.

Two of these little guys started turning bright red at 4 weeks and made it so easy but all of the ones I posted have me confused. Keeps you on your toes, I suppose!
