I have 6 baby chicks that are around 7 to 8 weeks old. They have all feathered out and we have them in the coup sectioned off from the older chicks. At what age can we let them out to wander and mingle with the older chicks? They want out of the coup now but am afraid the older chicks will hurt them.

Hear it's better to let them share the same run for 3-4 weeks with a wire divider. So they can get to know each other... so to speak.
Then, at night when they are roosting and in their daze. Gently pick them up one by one and place them on the roost with the older chicks until they are all in the same coop. In the morning they'll wake up and say hi there. There will be tuffles as they sort out a new pecking order but not nearly as bad as just throwing them all together.

When my brother dropped off a roo last fall for breeding I did just that. Separated runs but they could see each other. After a month I put him in with the girls while they were sleeping. In a day or two he was like family
