I got a batch of chicks on Tuesday. They all seemed to do well - eating, drinking. Two of the delawares got some pasty butt on Wednesday and I cleaned it off as best I could. It wasn't blocking the exit. They were pooping fine. I gave them all save a chick and plain water and starter crumbles.
They have a premier 1 brooder plate and seemed to be active and happy. One of the Delawares is smaller than the others and started doing badly yesterday. Not eating or moving as much. This morning she was just sitting and sleeping so I brought her inside to give save a chick in a dropper and keep her warmer. It was a bit cold in the garage last night. Now she is just sitting on my chest under a heating pad and not doing anything except peeping every once in a while
she also has one eye squeezed shut and won't open.
She got a bit wet when I was cleaning her pasty the other day but I dried her off pretty well before putting her back. I did notice her vent was a little more swollen than the others but it didn't look bad.
What else can I do?
