My 6 day old barred rock chick has a bald spot. She isn't acting sick, but I'm worried. Is this a disease? Should I be worried about something passing to the other chicks? I'm worried...... What should I do?

Is she in with other chicks? Are they picking at her?

She is in with the other chicks. Should I seperate her? I have't seen any other chicks pecking her, but they are in the garage and not always in sight. Can I stop it any way other than seperating them?

I've read before that people apply blue-kote to the area and it stops the pecking and they never had to separate. You could try this, you can get it from your feed store.

Thanks, I'll try it. She doesn't look sick and is drinking and eating. So maybe someone was picking on her.

If it isn't irritated red or bloody I would leave it alone. Sometimes chicks feather out in such a way that they look partially bald as they start to grow feathers. Stay calm, don't overmedicate.
