6 Day Old Chick With Bubbles Coming Out of Mouth

Hi everyone I’m a new chicken mama, I got 7 chicks from Fleet Farm just under a week ago! Everyone has been doing great, but this morning I noticed one of the chicks took a drink of water and then lifted her head/stretched her neck. When she did this she opened her mouth and there were clear bubbles that came out. She’s acting fine, her poop looks normal, she’s eating(only chick grit) and drinking (has ACV in it) okay. They do not have access to grit yet because all they eat is chick grit. I felt her crop and it felt mostly empty and soft, and it didn’t seem to cause her any pain when I felt it. Any help/suggestions would be amazing!

Thats fairly normal after a chick drinks water. The stretching of the neck and opening of the mouth was adjusting her crop to get everything to go down.

Oh my gosh, thank you! I’m glad it’s normal, it really freaked me out at first.

They usually don’t require grit if they are only getting chick starter, and no grass or other foods. She sounds normal, and I would not be concerned unless she has mucus or foam coming out of her beak.
