Hi guys

I'm new to this raising ducklings.

I recently purchased some baby mallard ducklings and also purchased a titan brooder which has arrived today. I've set it all up at the right height. Not too high for the ducklings and not too low so that they burn themselves

I'm a little worried that they are scared to go under it as every time I put them under they just seem to flee from under it. Will they get to cold overnight or will they use common sense and go under the brooder?

I have a heat plate probably similar to what your talking about. Because I started my ducklings out under a heat lamp then switched to the heat plate they never would use it. Then I hatched 2 Runner ducklings and started them out under the heat plate, they took right to it.

You may have to hold them under there until the 'feel the heat'.
Get one to stay under the rest should follow.

Or try putting the heat plate on paper towels with feed on the paper towels.
Ducklings wean themselves from heat sooner than chicks.
What is the ambient temperature where the brooder is located?
It's 27 degrees celcius on the thermometer mate they've taken to it now its been in the pen over 24 hours 👍👍
