Hello.
It's my first time hatching ducks. We didn't know back then that muscovies take longer to hatch and we placed them under a broody hen together with indian runner ducks eggs. 2 runners hatched 2 days ago and mom hen started leaving the nest today very often. Yesterday i was prepared for this so i quickly made a diy incubator according to some videos and tutorials. I don't have anyone to borrow a broody hen or incubator from. It consists of a plastic box with a cloth on the bottom so eggs stay in place, a water cup for humidity and a 40W glass bulb. I'm regulating the temperature by opening or closing the lid because it doesn't drop or rise very quickly. I'm planning to change eggs places everytime i turn them so that every egg gets same amount of heat. Heres a photo of it:
Do anyone have any advice about it? Sadly i don't have temperature controler or electric thermometer btw. And if my calculations are good then there are about 6 days until eggs hatch.
