Any advice appreciated. Constructive please. We aren't dumb. We aren't new to Muscovies and how clever they can be when laying on a nest. This isn't our first time finding a hatching Muscovy egg far from where it should be. By far I mean a couple feet. And by first, in each case, it is the only incident.
This morning I was sorting eggs after having a bird/house sitter this weekend. I am also questioning if it could be from 5 days ago and my fault. Anyways, I heard the unmistakable sound of an internally pipped Muscovy baby. So I start handling each one. As I do, I happen upon 2 ready to hatch Muscovy eggs. One of them still alive and trying to get out. I immediately darted out to the best momma I could find to lay on the egg and possibly hatch it. I also have an incubator I've got started up. I'm worried it may be shrink wrapped. Or, is this all in vain? Are we going to hatch a poor baby that has developmental problems due to being at room temperature for days? Anyone else have a similar experience with a positive outcome? Thanks in advance!
