So.....we got 6 hens. No doubt about it. 6 eggs a day for a week almost. 1 male after culling. And yet - today we got 7 eggs o_0 so.....is someone laying 2 times a day? And if so - how does that work? I mean, doesn't it take a lot out of them to make those eggs?

One could have laid right after you checked them last and then right before you checked them. Sometimes they will lay two a day, but not regularly. Usually it becomes a double yolker, but this time the second yolk must have gotten a shell. Very rare, but it happens occasionally. Usually in young layers working out the kinks...

More simply...A hen laid 2 eggs in less than 48 hours. Nothing to worry about. It happens!

Wrong forum buddy, this happens a lot. People give advice for chickens on the quail section. This can lead to the OP losing many birds if it was something like eggbound, aggression, ext.
