Hi, new here with a question from those much more knowledgeable than me! I have 19 6 mo isa browns and only one is losing feathers on her sides. They have a fair bit of room 15×20' run plus a 5x14 ish coop. Only one is having issues so i dont think it is mites? I did see one hen bugging her, but she may have been picking her own feathers too, or pecking at the girl pecking at her? She doesn't appear to be ill, she is up and running around with the rest of them, dust bathing, but idk if she is laying, bc they like to lay in about 6 of the 9 available boxes. We did get 19 eggs 2 days ago, so it seems she was laying then at least. Would appreciate any advice on what could be wrong or what i should do, if i am doing something wrong.

Do you have a rooster, otherwise it could be feather picking from the other hens, keep up the protein levels on the ration, high production hens need more than heritage breeds, she is probably the lowest on the pecking order. That's really not a lot of room for that many hens, make sure to provide places for hens to escape being bullied. I have bantam chickens in an area a bit bigger than that and they start to squabble if there's more than 15 of them Space requirement should be based on tolerance of each other, not square footage it seems.
