I have 5 Barred rock hens that just began to lay last week. I have noticed that their cones have been flopped over, but they look healthy and their cones and wattles are bright red. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Thanks a lot!

Nothing to fix. That's just the way they are. Combs tend to get larger as they get to the POL and if there isn't anything to support it, it just flops over. It will be more prone to frostbite than a nice short comb.

Their combs are flopping over because they are mature. The older birds get, the larger their combs become (until they reach maturity). Floppy combs are nothing to worry about; its just what you birds look like. You can't fix them.

Hope this answers your question.

Ok I don't care what they look like, I just didn't know if they were sick and if it was fixable. They are beautiful just the way they are! :)
