6 month old silkie rooster not mating :(

Hi all,

I got 2 silkie roosters about 6 months old and 1 started to crow for couple of weeks now and I just introduced 2 hens so now i got 2 rooster and 2 hens all silkies but I dont see the roosters show any interest to the hens.

My first question is why dont they like the hens?

My second is the day after i got the hens one layed an egg now its been 4 days and no more eggs any ideas why?

My roo has been in with the girls for about 2 months now, and I've never seen him do his roosterly deed yet. BUT, I've got eggs in the incubator and they're developing, so I know he's doing the job.

If you just got the hens, it's not uncommon for them to stop laying when moved to a new place due to stress, etc. Silkies are also not known as being prolific layers.

I have had the pullets for 6 days now, how long does it take for them to get out of shock from the move? they used to be show birds kept in cages now they have an area of the backyard free range.

First couple of days they didnt move or forage now they are going about foraging but still refuses to go into the coop at night or get our in the morning, and one of them layed an egg the second day we got them,
my kids were so eggxicited but now they upset they dont see any more eggs.

Its so hard to make my kids understand that some times eggs take time to be layed (they are autistic) if anyone got any ideas would really appreciate it, thanks all.
