6 month old Speckled Sussex still haven’t laid an egg ☹️

Hello,
I have 4 Speckled Sussex and 4 Golden Comets that are 6 months old. All 4 of my Golden girls have been laying, but not one from my Speckled girls. They get layered feed, some compost, and black sunflower seeds. They free range for about 1-3 hours a day usually 3pm until they put themselves to bed. I don’t believe they are laying outside. Any ideas?

Given the time of year and the breed involved, this is not at all unusual. SS mature more slowly, lay fewer eggs/year, but have a longer productive life than high production birds. They will lay.
