Ah...I see the second page of photos now...The large red birds are Production Reds/Hatchery RIR's
White birds are games...possibly Old English...and the black may be hatchery quality Australorp or a Black Sexlink.

Better photos of black would help for that.

Thank you! I will put some up of the black, she wasn't wanting to come out of the nesting box when I was taking pictures... Good to know!

I'm still not sure on the black one without a full body shot. It looks more like a Black Rock as I'm not seeing the iridescent sheen (beetle green) that the Australorps get. Doesn't have the body shape (the big bum cushion) of a Black Orpington.

I'm thinking Black Rock.

My best guess.

I will try again today, her feathers do get that beetle green shine when the sun hits them

Yes the eye color is wrong for Australorp.

There is no red bleed through that most Black Stars get which is why I consider Black Rock...we are to the point that it is probably one of those. Without genetic testing you may never fully know.

You have a nice black laying bird.

Thank you, I have been wondering for forever! I am hatching chicks and wanted to know what type of bird the hen was. I was told the roo was a mix of breeds... Would that mean my chicks could come out different than both their parents?
